Keenan & Catherine’s Fall Wedding at The CAPE in Picton

A CAPE Picton wedding in October is pretty hard to beat. Prince Edward County is beautiful throughout wedding season, but fall brings cooler air, quieter streets and, if you time it right, some incredible colour.

Keenan and Catherine’s wedding at The CAPE had all of it.

I had already spent time with these two photographing their engagement session at Point Petre, so by the time their wedding arrived, I knew them well enough that the day felt less like showing up to photograph strangers and more like continuing a story we had already started.

A Fall Wedding at The CAPE in Prince Edward County

The CAPE sits right in the heart of Picton and is such a distinctive place for a Prince Edward County wedding. From the architecture and beautiful grounds to all of the character inside, there are so many different spaces to photograph without having to spend the wedding day driving all over the County.

For Keenan and Catherine, it also felt especially fitting to celebrate close to home.

The Sprague family has deep roots in Prince Edward County, and Keenan and his family are behind Sprague Foods. If you haven’t tried their canned goods, you should. As someone who spends so much of my life photographing people who choose to get married here, I always love when a wedding has an extra connection to the County itself.

Their October celebration felt exactly like that.

Wedding Photos at Glenwood Cemetery in Picton

For portraits, we headed just a few minutes away to Glenwood Cemetery.

I know—a cemetery isn’t necessarily the first location most people think of when they imagine their wedding photographs. But Glenwood is one of the most beautiful places in Picton in the fall.

Its winding roads, huge mature trees and layers of autumn colour made it an easy choice for Keenan and Catherine’s wedding photos. The leaves were at that perfect point in October where everything seemed to be glowing.

A Wedding Day That Felt Like Them

SaJess Events brought everything together beautifully, creating a celebration that felt polished without losing the warmth of the day.

What I remember most, though, is Keenan and Catherine themselves.

There was an ease between them that I had already seen during their Point Petre engagement photos. Weddings can be busy, emotional and occasionally a little chaotic, but underneath everything happening around them, these two simply seemed very happy to be getting married.

Those are always the moments I’m looking for.

The photographs that matter most to me aren’t necessarily the ones where everything is perfectly arranged. They’re the looks between people, the reactions happening just outside the obvious moment, the hugs and laughter and tiny pieces of the day that you don’t realize you’ll want to remember until later.

Keenan and Catherine gave me plenty of those.

And, as it turns out, their wedding wasn’t the end of our story. I have since had the chance to photograph them again as their family has grown—which is one of my favourite parts of doing this work.
